Director of Education Program Services

A respected NYC-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities through specialized education, clinical care, and comprehensive community-based programs.

They are seeking an experienced Director of Education Program Services to lead educational programming at one of their schools.

This is a year-round, school leadership opportunity for an experienced special education professional who is passionate about supporting children with developmental disabilities and leading multidisciplinary teams. Think of it as a principal-level role with responsibility for educational programming, staff leadership, operations, and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily school and program operations, including educational, clinical, medical, and support services
\n
• Lead, supervise, and develop educational and multidisciplinary staff
\n
• Oversee curriculum development, classroom assignments, and student placements
\n
• Manage program budgets, staffing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
\n
• Build strong relationships with families, school districts, community organizations, and outside agencies
\n
• Drive program development, continuous improvement, and long-term planning
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• Master’s degree in Special Education
\n
• NYS certification as a Special Education Teacher
\n
• NYS School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) certification
\n
• At least 5 years of Special Education teaching experience
\n
• At least 4 years of school administration experience
\n
• Demonstrated leadership, staff management, and special education program oversight experience
