Location Highlights
McAlester offers access to outdoor recreation and regional travel routes in southeastern Oklahoma. Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma’s largest lake, is about 30 miles east and provides boating, fishing, and camping options. Robbers Cave State Park is about 35 miles north and features hiking trails, rock formations, and horseback riding in a quiet, scenic setting. The city is also home to Chadick Park and the Gerrard Ardeneum, while U.S. Route 69 and the Indian Nation Turnpike support travel to Tulsa and surrounding communities.
