About Respondent

Respondent is building a fully autonomous research platform, where specialised agents do the heavy lifting of recruiting, screening, interviewing and analysing, while the people doing the research stay in the loop and in control of the questions that matter. Everything we build is grounded in one thing: deeply understanding people and why they do what they do.

We own and verify our own panel of 4.3M+ participants across 150+ countries, from everyday consumers to credentialed experts, and that depth of data about real people is what makes the platform work. Teams at Microsoft , IBM , P&G , OpenAI and Anthropic use us for user research, customer research and AI evaluation, whether that's talking to the users they're winning and losing, measuring how a market thinks, or putting domain experts in front of models to evaluate and align them.

We're profitable , around 35 people across Sydney and the US, and we've spent a decade learning how to match the right human to the right study. The next chapter is turning that into a platform where agents run the work end to end and researchers direct it. We're hiring a Senior AE (API) to accelerate our growth.

The role

This is a true full cycle hunting role for a Senior Account Executive who owns everything from first touch to signature. You will drive your own pipeline, run your own discovery, and close new logos across product, UX, and research organizations.

Marketing will support you with inbound demand and campaigns, but the strongest reps here create their own opportunities rather than waiting for leads. You will prospect proactively, build pipeline you own, and carry a quota you are accountable for closing.

You will act as a trusted advisor to research leaders evaluating how they recruit participants, and you will own the deal from the first cold conversation through signed agreement.

Please Note: this role requires you to work Pacific Time for the remote arrangement to work.

Your impact

• Own the full sales cycle for new platform business, from prospecting and discovery through negotiation and close
\n
• Build a strong pipeline through a mix of proactive outbound, inbound demand, and referrals
\n
• Own the generation of net new opportunities, working alongside marketing rather than depending on it to fill your funnel
\n
• Run consultative discovery with research, product, and UX leaders to understand their recruitment needs and map Respondent to them
\n
• Deliver tailored demos and business cases that connect our marketplace to measurable research outcomes
\n
• Negotiate commercial terms and close agreements, partnering with leadership and legal on non standard deals
\n
• Forecast accurately and keep your pipeline and activity current in Zoho CRM
\n
• Partner with the Account Management team to set new customers up for a strong handoff and expansion
\n
• Feed market and product signal back to leadership, marketing, and product to sharpen our positioning
\n

✨ What you bring

\n
• Eight or more years of full cycle SaaS or marketplace sales experience, with a consistent record of hitting or exceeding quota
\n
• Proven hunter who can generate and close net new business, comfortable building pipeline while also converting marketing sourced demand
\n
• Strong consultative selling skills and comfort running discovery and demos with senior stakeholders
\n
• Fluency with a modern sales stack, including CRM hygiene and pipeline discipline in Zoho CRM or similar
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to build business cases that resonate with technical and non technical buyers
\n
• Comfort operating with autonomy in a fast moving environment
\n
• A builder's mindset, with the initiative to improve process rather than wait for it
\n

• Experience selling into research, UX, product, or insights teams

• Familiarity with the market research, user research, or participant recruitment landscape

• Experience selling a two sided marketplace or a product with both platform and API motions
